How Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Will Remember Princess Diana On Death Anniversary
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will pay tribute to Princess Diana on her 21st death anniversary.
Alahna Kindred, a journalist for Express, noted that this will be the first time that Markle will be remembering the Princess of Wales alongside Prince Harry.
Last year, Prince William and Prince Harry were joined by Kate Middleton when they visited Princess Diana’s memorial spot. That time, Prince Harry and Markle were still boyfriend and girlfriend.
This year, no official confirmation on what Princess Diana’s sons and their respective partners will do on Aug. 31 has been made. A spokesperson for Kensington Palace told Kindred that they can’t comment on the matter. But the palace previously confirmed that Markle and Prince Harry will be seen in out in public on Aug. 29. The royal couple will be watching “Hamilton” in London.
In related news, Prince William and Prince Harry have been remembering their mom during some of the most important occasions in their lives. In 2011, Prince William gave Middleton Princess Diana’s blue sapphire engagement ring. In their engagement interview, Prince William said that he wanted his mom to be part of his special day.
Last year, Prince Harry also revealed that some of the diamonds on Markle’s engagement ring came from Princess Diana’s jewelry. The Duke of Sussex also said a similar thing about wanting his mom to be present during his wedding day.
Middleton also paid tribute to Princess Diana when Prince Louis was born. Not only did she pose for photographs outside St. Mary’s Hospital’s Lindo Wing; she also wore a red dress that looked exactly like Princess Diana’s attire when she gave birth to one of her sons.
Markle, who has not met Princess Diana before, also remembered her by holding a bouquet of forget-me-nots on during her May 19 wedding to Prince Harry at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.
Princess Diana passed away on Aug. 31, 1997, following a fatal car crash in Paris.
