Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Have A New Dog In Kensington Palace
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have a new addition to their family at the Kensington Palace.
Richard Eden, a royal correspondent for the Daily Mail, revealed that the couple just purchased a Labrador puppy.
“The dog is already happily ensconced at their cottage. Like the Sussexes, the dog will divide its time between the palace and their country home in the Cotswolds,” a source told Eden.
Unfortunately, the name of the color of the Labrador has not yet been revealed. But it is known that both Prince Harry and Markle are dog lovers. In fact, when Markle relocated to London from Toronto, she brought one of her two dogs with her.
Bogart, Markle’s Labrador-Shepherd mix, was left behind in Toronto because the Duchess of Sussex felt that he was too old to make the journey to the United Kingdom. Bogart and Guy are both rescue dogs that Markle and her ex-husband, Trevor Engelson, took in when they were still together.
In related news, Prince Harry revealed during his engagement interview that Queen Elizabeth II’s dogs are obsessed with the former “Suits” star. The Duke of Sussex said that it took the Queen’s corgis some time to warm up to him, but they fell in love with Markle during their first meeting.
“The corgis took to you straight away. For the last 33 years, I’ve been barked at, and this one walks in, absolutely nothing, just wagging tails,” Prince Harry said.
“Just laying on my feet during tea, it was very sweet,” Markle revealed.
Andrew Morton, a royal biographer, told Fox News that one of the reasons the Queen fell in love with Markle instantly was because of the way she treated her corgis.
“The royal family is very used to people being very nervous in their presence and coming out with the most nonsensical things. I remember bishops had curtsied to the Queen, rather than a bow. All kinds of things go on. So Harry told Meghan to be yourself and be relaxed. And the fact that the corgis liked her was a plus in her favor,” he said.
