Prince William, Prince Harry Made This ‘Big Mistake’ As Royals, Says Expert
Prince William and Prince Harry have reportedly made one huge mistake as royals.
Marlene Koenig, a royal expert, said that Prince William and Prince Harry’s decision to distance themselves from the media didn’t help improve their reputation as royals.
“William and Harry have distanced themselves from the media and made things much more difficult for everyone around them. What they fail to realize is that tabloid press, with little to go on, will feast on whatever they have and try to turn it into something awful. The British tabloids just go for the jugular. They don’t care about facts,” she said.
Koenig added that Prince William and Prince Harry’s anger towards toward the paparazzi had to do with Princess Diana’s death. As young boys, the siblings were told that it was the press that killed their mom, but she was actually involved in a car crash.
“For them, this all goes back to Diana and their belief that the press killed her. But the truth is she was killed by a drunk driver and didn’t have her seatbelt on,” Koenig said.
The royal expert added that Prince William and Prince Harry should figure out a way to include the media in their daily lives because they are public figures.
“They should be more offering to the public, to the media, and issue more things particularly when it comes to how Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are growing up, and how Meghan is getting on. They certainly need to find a better balance than they have now, because the more you give, the less temptation there is to create stories,” Koenig said.
In related news, Princess Diana’s former bodyguard, Kevin Wharfe, also criticized the Duke of Cambridge and the Duke of Sussex. He told Yahoo! News’ The Royal Box, “I don’t think people have let them down if anyone has let them down it’s probably themselves.”
Wharfe said that all of the negative publicity the siblings received were a result of what they did. And the media couldn’t be blamed for it.
