How Prince Harry Teased Meghan Markle While Helping Couple Struggling To Take Photo
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry used the holiday season to take a break from the UK and relax abroad. One of their vacation destinations was Canada, where they surprised a couple that was struggling to get the perfect photo.
On Jan. 1, Asymina Kantorowicz and Iliya Pavlovic were trying to capture the perfect picture with a selfie stick at Vancouver Island’s Horth Hill Regional Park. Luckily, another couple came along and offered to give them a hand.
However, when Kantorowicz and Pavlovic decided to accept the strangers’ help, they were shocked when they realized who was taking their picture. “It all happened so fast, and then it was over, and then you’re thinking like, ‘Oh, you know, I could have done that. I could’ve done this. But it was, it was still nice and it’s just such a nice memory to have,” Kantorowicz told Us Weekly.
“A nice way to start 2020. No hike is ever going to top this one,” she added.
Although the producer didn’t immediately recognize Meghan, she became a bit star-struck when she realized the Duchess of Sussex was accompanied by her husband, and her former “Suits” co-star, costar Abigail Spencer.
During the encounter, Kantorowicz revealed Prince Harry jokingly teased his wife after she volunteered to help the couple with their picture. “Harry joked ‘No pressure’ [when Meghan was taking our photo],” she revealed.
“Harry and Meghan could see that we were struggling with our selfie stick so honestly, it was just so nice of her to approach us and like help us out. She didn’t have to do that. She was just really, really friendly.”
Although Harry and Meghan are members of the royal family, Kantorowicz insisted they looked like “a regular married couple” during their Vancouver outing.
“They just seemed very relaxed and happy and just like they wanted to just enjoy some time outside and in privacy in some way. [They were dressed in] rain jackets and had tuques on,” she explained.
Although the couple remained calm during the encounter, they admitted they were hit with excitement once the group was gone.
Meghan and Prince Harry were reportedly expected to leave Canada to return to the UK on Friday. However, it is unclear whether the couple will follow the alleged travel plans.
