Following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s announcement that they planned to step back from the royal family, the couple had to agree to terms set by Queen Elizabeth.

However, before the couple released their statement, the Duke of Sussex’s relationship with his brother, Prince William, was already falling apart.

In October 2019, Prince Harry got candid about his relationship with Prince William in the ITV documentary “Harry and Meghan: An African Journey.” Unfortunately, the Duke of Cambridge was not happy about the way Harry portrayed their relationship.

According to BBC royal correspondent Jonny Dymond, William was upset when he learned what his brother thought about their rift.

“I heard from a very good source that Prince William was furious with his younger brother for doing this interview and let him know in no uncertain terms,” Dymond revealed at the time.

In the past, Prince William has said he “hates to lose control” and Prince Harry’s interview made his older brother feel like he lost his power.

“A Palace source that I’ve spoken to said that they hadn’t seen the fury, certainly not this morning, but they were clear that Prince William was concerned for his brother,” Dymond said.

In the documentary, Prince Harry reflected on his and Prince William’s future in the royal family. “We are brothers. We will always be brothers. We are certainly on different paths at the moment, but I will always be there for him as I know he will always be there for me,” he revealed.

“We don’t see each other as much as we used to because we are so busy, but I love him dearly. The majority of the stuff is created out of nothing but as brothers, you know, you have good days, you have bad days.”

Although Prince Harry and Meghan have stepped away from their senior royal duties, the couple is expected to visit Queen Elizabeth at her estate in Balmoral over the summer.
