How Prince William Claimed He Could ‘Beat’ Prince Harry But Was Wrong
Prince William once declared that he could beat Prince Harry but he was actually wrong with his assumption.
During a previous interview with BBC’s Radio 1, journalist Scott Mills asked the future king who would win if ever there’s a fight between him and his younger brother. Prince William confidently declared that he would win because he’s bigger than the Duke of Sussex.
However, Kate Middleton’s husband was mistaken. During one occasion, the Duke of Sussex beat Prince William, which proved that the older royal doesn’t always win over his brother.
In 2017, Prince William, Prince Harry, and Middleton participated in a marathon. Prior to the race, the Duke of Cambridge asked his wife and brother to do their best but not their very best.
To the dad of three’s surprise, Prince Harry ran much faster than him and won. Even though Prince William claimed that he would always win against Prince Harry, he graciously acknowledged defeat at that time.
Meanwhile, Prince William and Prince Harry received very different treatments when they were growing up. Members of the royal family seemingly favored the former because he is bound to be King.
Prince Harry always felt that he was just second to Prince William. In fact, he once complained about it during a conversation he had with Princess Diana.
When the Princess of Wales was still alive, she made sure to give her sons the same treatment.
“Charles and I worked so hard to ensure that both boys receive equal amounts of our time and love. Others in the family seem to concentrate on William,” she said.
Meanwhile, royal author Penny Junor told Daily Mail that even though Prince William and Prince Harry were very competitive towards each other, the royal siblings used to have each other’s backs.
“They had each other’s backs and there was every expectation they would always have. It would be nothing short of a tragedy if that bond between ‘Diana’s boys’ was to fall apart permanently and something the public would hate to see,” she said.
