Netizens discuss how Prince William and Prince George were told about their future roles in the monarchy.

The Duke of Cambridge is second in line to the throne while his son is next to him in the line of succession. Prince William and Prince George are set to be the future kings of Britain. Since the father and son share the same fate, royal fans wonder how they were told about the huge role awaiting them.

Netizens discuss this matter on the online forum Quora. According to several royal followers, royal kids are aware of their future role.

“From a very early age. There are anecdotes of the royal kids being told their future. In any case, as soon as they meet anyone outside the royal sphere they’ll be told anyhow, or work it out for themselves. They’re put on show for the cameras very early on and are witness to all the pomp and ceremony of the monarch,” James O’Malley wrote.

Elizabeth Anne Nield, a self-confessed royal-obsessed follower shared an incident that reflected Prince William and Prince Harry’s reaction about the former’s role in the monarchy.

One time, Prince William told Princess Diana that he wanted to be a police officer when he grew up so he could protect his mom. However, his younger brother chimed in and told him “oh no you can’t; you’re going to be king.” The online user concluded that young children are aware of their roles.

Meanwhile, Prince William revealed earlier that he and his wife Kate Middleton were not in a hurry to inform their son about his future role in the monarchy. The Duke of Cambridge believed that there would be a perfect time to do it and at the time. Prince William wanted his son to enjoy his childhood and not think of the huge responsibility he will be taking when he grows up.

Just recently, a source said that Prince William is already gently preparing Prince George how it is to be a royal. The duke reportedly does it in a very simple manner to avoid overwhelming his child.
