Princess Diana played a role in Prince William and Prince Harry’s rumored rift.

For months, there have been rumors claiming that Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s two sons have been feuding. According to sources, the royal brothers’ rift started when Prince William told Prince Harry to slow down with his romance with Meghan Markle because they didn’t know her that much. The Duke of Sussex didn’t take the advice of his older brother well and accused Prince William of trying to destroy his relationship with the former “Suits” star before it even started.

According to Richard Kay, Prince William did it as Prince Harry’s older brother who cared for him. Also, it had something to do with what their mother told the future king.

“Not long before she died, Diana talked to William about the kind of woman he might marry. She told him that the most important thing was that they should be best friends,” Kay wrote for Daily Mail.

“Diana later said that William ‘got’ this. According to one of the Princess’s circle, William’s concern about Harry marrying Meghan so quickly was probably because of that maternal advice about marrying someone you know well.”

Princess Diana felt that she and Prince Charles barely knew each other when they got married. She was convinced that if they had been friends, they would have never separated. For this reason, Prince William warned Prince Harry to slow down with his romance with Markle.

However, according to royal correspondent Emily Andrews, Prince Harry “went mental” when Prince William told him about it. He reportedly stood up for Markle “very forcibly.”

Some sources felt that Prince Harry snapped because only few of the people like it when their romantic choice is being questioned, which appeared to be the case for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

On the other hand, Prince William and Kate Middleton dated for almost a decade before they got engaged. The royal couple had an on-again, off-again relationship, so their romance was tested by time. At present, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge remain in love and even had a subtle sweet moment during their Pakistan tour.
