How to Recreate Kate Middleton's Faux Short Bob Hairstyle During Remembrance Day
Kate Middleton may yet again start another trend with her ensemble and hairstyle during the Remembrance Day ceremony.
On Saturday, Middleton changed up her usual look for the Remembrance Day ceremony and decided to go for a short bob. And one celebrity hairstylist has shared the secret to Middleton's faux bob hairstyle. Yusef Williams, Rihanna's hairstylist, told E! News that he discovered a hair hack similar to Middleton's hairstyle while backstage at the Paris Fashion Week years ago.
"The wonderful thing about doing faux looks is that you don't have to commit," Williams said of Middleton's faux short bob.
Check out the steps to get Middleton's elegant look below!
1. Use a barrel curling iron to add texture to hair. For those with fine hair, spray with dry shampoo to thicken it.
2. Section the hair from left ear to the right ear. Pin it up.
3. Braid the back section in a zigzag pattern, pinning the ends. You can also split it into two sections and twist each section into a small bun.
4. Brush the top section down.
5. Backcomb and tease the hair to add shape and dimension.
6. Split the top half into two sections and coil each section around two fingers.
7. Anchor the coiled hair into the base braids with bobby pins.
8. Pull hairs out from the top for a more imperfect look.
9. Accessorize with gold bobby pins.
10. Set the style with hair spray.
As for Middleton's ensemble for the event, she sported a military-inspired black wool-silk coat with gold buttons by Dolce & Gabbana. Prince William's wife accessorized it with three paper red poppies, which is customary in the U.K. to wear on Remembrance Sunday, People reported.
Middleton completed her outfit by wearing a classic wide-brimmed structural black hat for the event. She was first spotted wearing it in 2016 for Prince William's passing-out parade at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.
