How Sophia Hutchins Was Inspired By Caitlyn Jenner To Complete Transition

Long before Caitlyn Jenner and Sophia Hutchins forged an inseparable bond after being introduced to each other personally by their makeup artist and stylist, the much younger model was already looking up to the former Olympian for inspiration especially when it came to her physical transformation.

Hutchins is currently 23 and is proudly going by the name of Sophia, but three years ago she was still referred to by many of her Pepperdine University schoolmates as Scott, the SGA junior class president who didn’t manage to finish his term because he chose to take some time off from school to focus on his transition.

When he resigned from the position, Scott explained to the school newspaper that he was taking a leave of absence for the semester because he was eager to complete his gender transition. At the time of the interview, he still preferred the use of the male pronouns. But he made it clear that big changes are about to happen when he comes back in the fall of 2017.

Interestingly, Scott revealed at the time that a big part of his decision to finish his physical transformation at full speed was Caitlyn’s “20/20” interview with Diane Sawyer in which the former Kardashian-Jenner patriarch poured her heart out while revealing to the world that she’s “a woman.”

“[Jenner’s interview] made it so much more real for [him], like normal and successful people do this and people are OK when they do it,” Hutchins said, adding that the “20/20” special really triggered him to push through with the final steps of her transition, which he started when he entered college and after breaking away from his family.

At present, Hutchins is already living her truth as Sophia. What’s even more interesting is she gets to be with Caitlyn, the same person who motivated her to realize her full transition. The two are working together on several causes related to the LGBTQ community. On top of this, the finance graduate is helping the “I Am Cait” star manage her businesses.

Last year, Sophia moved into Caitlyn’s $3.5 million Malibu residence and they have since been inseparable. They celebrated Valentine’s together this year and they also go on regular dinner dates. They even went to Athens together and had a blast touring the beautiful city. Despite their closeness, they maintained that they are just business partners.

However, Hutchins may have dropped a bombshell after her 23rd birthday party early this month. She apparently called Jenner her “loving partner” in a meaningful post about the people she chose to surround herself with.
