This Is How 'Suits' Will Handle Meghan Markle's Absence On Final Season
Meghan Markle, who portrayed Rachel Zane on "Suits" for seven seasons, made the decision to leave the television show once she married Prince Harry and became the Duchess of Sussex in 2018. However, it is said that the new season of the USA Network series will give a nod to her character in certain aspects of the storyline.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Patrick J. Adams, who portrayed Markle's husband Michael Ross on the show, was asked how the writers intended on addressing her absence on the ninth and final installment of the drama.
Rachel and Mike relocated to Seattle at the end of Season 7, but, according to Adams, his character's return to the program is not a permanent one.

"For Mike, this is just a trip to New York. He's in Seattle, [Mike and Rachel] are building their life together, it sounds like he's doing well," the actor said.
Continuing, the 37-year-old went on to say that the future episode will also contain bits of Rachel, but that involvement will come with a catch as she will not physically be present.
"There's phone calls with Rachel saying, 'Goodbye, I love you' and, you know, I think there's some obvious acknowledgment that she's still there and a part of the show."
Season 9 of "Suits" will premiere July 17 on USA Network.
