HTC Bliss Renamed Rhyme to be Released on Sept. 20, Press Shot Suggests
HTC Bliss, the long-rumored Android phone designed for women, was allegedly renamed to HTC Rhyme, according to a newly leaked press shot.
A device named HTC Rhyme had received DLNA certification last week, with the same model number as HTC Bliss, suggesting that the two could be the same phone.
A German site HTCInside posted a leaked press shot of an HTC device that looks exactly like Bliss, but called it HTC Rhyme, while not indicating whether it is the official name or just the name of the European version. The leaked photo shows the device in silver and white outfit, though the previous rumors suggested HTC Bliss for Verizon to come in sea green.
HTC may be reconsidering the woman centric design to widen the target users to include a broader demographic.
The screen on the leaked photo gives a date of Sept. 20, when a major HTC press event is taking place in New York City. New Android devices are expected to be launched at the event.
Sporting HTC's latest version of Sense 3.5 user interface, HTC Bliss (or Rhyme) will come with a 3.7-inch screen, Android 2.3.4 and a slightly slower 800MHz CPU.
