City A.M. reports that HTC is set to unveil a set of Facebook phones next month.

The unveiling is expected to happen at this year's Mobile World Congress, which is scheduled for February 14-17 in Barcelona, Spain. The event, which is attended by over 1,300 companies, offers manufacturers a chance to showcase their newest offerings. At last year's conference, Microsoft unveiled its Windows Phone 7 series.

HTC's Facebook phones, City A.M. says, will be running an altered version of Android and will feature extensive integration with Facebook's core functionality, including status updates and news feeds.

HTC Senior Public Relations Manager Keith Nowak declined to verify the rumors. Obviously we don't comment on rumors and speculation, he said.
