HTC Vivid Vs. Samsung Galaxy S2: How Do They Stack Up?
AT&T has released HTC Vivid on its network. The LTE device will be available from Nov.6 for $199 under 2-year contract.
HTC Vivid packs a dual core 1.2 GHz processor and a 4.5-inch qHD display. The smartphone runs on Google's Android Gingerbread operating system (OS).
HTC Vivid is expected to face stiff competition from Samsung Galaxy S2. Let's take a look at how HTC Vivid is faring against Samsung Galaxy S2.
Display: HTC Vivid features a 4. 5-inch qHD display with a resolution of 540x960 pixels. Both the T-Mobile and Sprint versions of Galaxy S2 has 4.52-inch display screen whereas AT&T version retains 4.3-inch screen of original Galaxy S2 version sold worldwide. The Sprint version of Galaxy S2 -- Epic Touch 4G -- comes with 4.52-inch (about 206 ppi pixel density) 800 x 480 pixels Super AMOLED Plus capacitive touchscreen display.
Design: HTC Vivid weighs 135 grams and has a dimension of 135.5 x 67.9 x 8.9 mm. On the other hand, Samsung Epic 4G Touch on Sprint comes with a 129.5 x 68.6 x 9.6 mm dimension and weighs 129 grams, while the T-Mobile version has 131 x 70 x 9 mm dimension. As the AT&T version retains 4.3-inch display, it is expected to feature 125.3 x 66.1 x 8.5 mm and weighs 116 grams
OS: Both phones run on Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS
Camera: HTC Vivid sports an 8-megapixel camera with f2.2 28mm wide angle lens for low light photos and can perform 1080p HD video recording at 60 frames per second. Galaxy S2 also sports an 8-megapixel LED flash camera with 1080p HD video capture capability.
Processor: Vivid has a 1.2GHz dual-core processor. The Sprint and AT&T variant of the Galaxy S2 is powered by a dual-core 1.2 GHz ARM Cortex-A9 Mali-400MP GPU Orion chipset, while the T-Mobile variant is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm APQ8060 processor.
Memory: Vivid has an internal memory of 16GB and offers microSD support for up to 32GB. Galaxy S2 boasts of 16/32GB internal storage and via a microSD card slot it can expand up to 32GB.
