‘HTGAWM’ Season 4 Spoilers: Connor And Oliver’s Relationship Will Face ‘Perfect Storm’
The relationship of Connor Walsh (Jack Falahee) and Oliver Hampton (Conrad Ricamora) is in the best place in “How to Get Away With Murder” Season 4, even after Connor rejected Oliver’s marriage proposal…for now.
Unfortunately, things won’t stay peaceful for too long between the fan favorite couple fondly dubbed as “Colliver.” Connor just saw his two gay dads, and meeting them again is going to send his head into a tailspin.
“I think it’s obvious that it was unexpected for Connor's dads to show up and that’s going to cause somewhat of a rift in Connor’s life. It’s something he’s going to have to navigate with Oliver and whether or not Oliver knows about Connor's dads becomes clear in the next episode —and if there's any fallout from that,” he told E! News.
Falahee said a conflict is going to ensue, especially since “things can’t remain positive for too long” in the ABC show. “So it stands to reason that there will probably be a little bit of a disruption,” Falahee continued. “It’s sort of the perfect storm of the dads showing up unannounced and Connor also being in this contentious place of dropping out of law school. How does that strain upon their ship play? We’ll definitely see that.”
However, executive producer Pete Nowalk told Variety that the introduction of Connor’s gay parents would actually make him reconsider Oliver’s marriage proposal. “His mind might change. We’re going to meet a family member of Connor’s this season, and we’re going to see how that might change his mind,” he said.
Nowalk also told The Hollywood Reporter that the challenges Connor and Oliver will face from here on end will only make them a better couple, especially after everything they have been through.
“I will say their relationship is just getting deeper, and what's really fun is for them to each be finding out things they didn't know about each other, as well as the audience is finding that out,” he said.
“How to Get Away With Murder” Season 4 airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. EDT on ABC.
