Huawei is expected to announce a trio of Huawei P20 smartphones this year and it looks like one of them has been leaked. Thanks to an FCC filing, specs and key features of the Huawei P20 Lite has already been revealed.

The FCC filing lists the device with a model number of ANE-LX1. About a week ago, leaker Roland Quandt (@rquandt) revealed that the codename for the P20 Lite is “Anne.” The model number seems to confirm that this device is indeed the Huawei P20 Lite and not the regular P20 or the P20 Plus. The FCC filing shows that the device will arrive with a 2,900mAh battery. PocketNow pointed out that this battery capacity seems to be too small for either the P20 or the P20 Plus. The documentations for the device also comes with sketches showing off the handset’s dimensions and other hardware features.

The back panel of the Huawei P20 Lite appears to only have a camera module that can fit two camera lenses. It’s possible that the P20 Lite will only have dual cameras, while the regular P20 and P20 Plus will come with triple cameras on the back. Huawei’s “Lite” variants typically have less impressive specs than its other counterparts.

The device is 148mm tall and 70mm wide, while the display itself should measure around 6.1 inches diagonally, according to GSM Arena. The device will have a very tall and unusual 19:9 aspect ratio for the display. Most importantly however is that the sketch in the FCC filing has confirmed that the P20 Lite will come with an iPhone X-like notch on top portion of the display.

If Huawei is willing to put a display notch on the P20 Lite, then the regular P20 and P20 Plus may have the notch as well. However, that’s just speculation at this point and Huawei may just be doing this for the P20 Lite to help draw consumers’ attention.

The sketches for the P20 Lite also doesn’t show any fingerprint scanners. It’s being speculated that Huawei may forgo a fingerprint scanner for all of its P20 phones and will rely on 3D facial recognition, as pointed out by GizmoChina. Again, this may be Huawei way of trying to copy or outdo the features that Apple introduced in the iPhone X.

The FCC filing also reveals that the Huawei P20 Lite will run Android 8.0 Oreo straight out of the box and will support 18W fast charging technology. The device is also listed as having a microSD card slot, dual-SIM and Wi-Fi 802.11n support. Information on processor and RAM weren’t given, but recent rumors suggest that the P-series phones will have the Kirin 970 processor and 6GB RAM.

Huawei will be attending MWC 2018 later this month, but the P20 phones won’t be making an appearance. The Chinese company has already sent out press invites for an event in Paris, France on March 27. The company didn’t say exactly what products will revealed during the event, but it did say that it will show off “new flagship devices.”
