Huge Deadly Snake Wraps Itself Around Reptile Catcher's Neck

A snake catcher in a coastal South African province had a terrifying experience after a deadly reptile wrapped itself around his neck while he was trying to capture it.

The details about the incident, which took place last week in KwaZulu-Natal, was mentioned by snake catcher Nick Evans in a Facebook post. Evans said he was preparing to film a video when he received a call about a "huge, black snake in a tree."

After arriving at the scene, he took a while to spot the snake. Evans initially saw a shed snake skin on the tree and thought people might have mistaken it for the reptile. However, when stressed they had seen the snake, Evans decided to climb the tree.

"Due to the way the tree was growing, I didn't really climb up, it was more across, over the river. I was carefully walking along the branches, determined to find the snake," he wrote. "Well, I looked to my left, and there it was, right in front of me! A massive mamba! 'B***** hell', I said in shock."

"Getting comfortably balanced on branches, I reached forward with my tongs, and as I did so, the snake started moving. It's coils, as thick as an average adult arm, started unwinding, slowly. I grabbed what I could, but very quickly realized that I had grabbed the tail end!"

Evans made several attempts to grab the snake with its tongs, but suddenly "something unusual happened."

The reptile "started wrapping its large coils around my head! It covered my eyes at one point, and I sucked my lips in to avoid getting it in my mouth!" he wrote.

The snake catcher said the reptile measured more than 8 feet long. "It was such a beast!" Evans then somehow managed to capture the snake and took it to a reserve.

Last month, a video showing a huge snake coiling itself around a man's legs went viral. The clip was shared on Twitter by user @MarieePechova with the caption: "What to day?!! Big snake wants to have this man for dinner."

In the clip, the man is seen struggling to escape from the grasps of the snake, which had tightly wrapped itself around his legs. Social media users were shocked to see the huge snake attacking the man.
