Hugh Heffner labels Crystal Harris as “Runaway Bride” on July issue of Playboy
It's no secret by now that Hugh Hefner, at 85 years old, will remain a bachelor.
It was reported that Crystal Harris called off their wedding Tuesday morning. Hefner and the 25 year old playmate were scheduled to get married on Saturday June 18 at the Playboy Mansion.
Following the split, Hefner Tweeted about the break up.
Since we're not getting married on Saturday, I've scheduled a movie: Runaway Bride, he wrote.
Hefner is taking the theme of the runaway bride one step further.
Harris is on the cover of Playboy's July issue, which is scheduled to hit newsstands tomorrow, under the headline Introducing Mrs. Crystal Hefner. The magazine was already shipped to the printer, so it was too late, and too costly to pull.
Instead, Hefner created a sticker with the phrase Runaway Bride to stick on the cover.
Recent events call for a special sticker on the July cover, Hefner tweeted. Look for it on newsstands.
According to the magazine's spokeswoman, the sticker is being put on as many as 100,000 copies of Playboy.
The sticker will only be on the issues that are sold at newsstands. It was too late for the magazine's 1.4 million subscribers. They will be receiving the original issue.
Hefner has said that he does not understand why Harris called off the wedding.
I didn't see any of this coming, he wrote. But I'm glad things went wrong before the marriage instead of after. Live & learn.
Hefner also pointed out that Harris decided to cancel the wedding on Tuesday, the same day her song, Club Queen was released on iTunes.
