Hugh Jackman celebrated his 25th wedding anniversary with wife Deborra-Lee Furness on Sunday. The 52-year-old actor had a sweet message to share with his fans about his marriage.
The actor took to Instagram to share a series of photos from his wedding day in which the couple were seen holding hands and kissing. "Being married to you Deb is as natural as breathing," he captioned. "From nearly the moment we met ... I knew our destiny was to be together. In our 25 years — our love has only grown deeper."
"The fun, excitement and adventure more exhilarating; the learning even greater," he added. "I'm forever grateful to share our love, our life — and, our family together. We've only just begun. Deb, I love you with all my heart!"
The 65-year-old actress and Jackman met first on the sets of the Australian TV series "Correlli," which released in 1995. They got married in April 1996 at a Melbourne church. The couple shares two children — son Oscar Maximilian Jackman, 20, and daughter Ava Eliot Jackman, 15.
Jackman often speaks about his wife in interviews. In March last year, Jackman reflected on his successful marriage and said, "We're always learning and humans change so you have to, even though we've been together 25 years, you gotta reset all the time."
"I'm always reeling in how funny she is and how amazing she is and how smart she is. The longer it goes on the better it gets," he added. In another interview with Extra last year, the actor spoke about spending time with his family during the lockdown.
"We were just saying the other day — we have never spent this much time together," he said. "But having this time without either of us working, being with the family … we've had this opportunity to be together, and the results are in: closer."
Furness told People in November that "Family, to me, means you feel safe. I always use the expression, 'All of us need to know that we're precious.' So, with family, you've always got that you're important in someone else's life."
Jackman's upcoming sci-fi thriller movie, "Reminiscence," is slated to release on Aug. 27, 2021.
