Hugh Jackman lauded Meghan Markle and Prince Harry and talked about the importance of seeking help for mental health problems after watching the royal couple’s interview with Oprah Winfrey.

The Hollywood actor, 52, took to Instagram Monday to share his reaction to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s controversial interview. In a video he posted on the social media platform, Jackman praised Markle and Prince Harry for bravely talking about the issues that transpired between them and the royal family.

“I recommend Oprah’s interview with Meghan and Harry, which Deb [wife Deborra-Lee Furness] and I, and millions of people around the world, watched last night with astonishment,” the star of “The Greatest Showman” said in the clip.

“Because there we were, watching an incredibly high-profile woman and her husband, speak so openly, courageously, honestly, with such dignity about the hardest time in their life and their cry for help,” he added.

Jackman is part of the men’s health organization Gotcha 4 Life. The foundation was basically established to increase mental fitness in Australia and extend help to those battling suicidal thoughts.

In the interview, Markle did share that she had thought of committing suicide while she was still pregnant with son Archie because of the royal life pressures and the mistreatment she got from the British media.

The duchess admitted to Oprah that she clearly had suicidal thoughts and was scared to tell Prince Harry about such things. However, she eventually told him everything because she felt that if she didn’t say anything, she would end up doing it, according to Page Six.

Jackman indirectly commented on Markle’s revelation when he mentioned how important it is for people going through tough times to seek help. “Last night I thought everyone needs to see this, because it is such an incredible example to never worry alone. Seek help, and if you’re not getting help where you’re looking for it, keep looking,” he said.

The Oscar-nominated actor then thanked Markle and Prince Harry for having the “courage” to share their story with the people all over the world by doing the interview with Oprah.
