Alex Beresford, the weatherman who confronted Piers Morgan on "Good Morning Britain" and defended Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, got the attention of the people.
Beresford trended on Twitter after he confronted Morgan, an open critic of the Sussexes, in an episode of "Good Morning Britain." The confrontation didn't turn out well with Morgan deciding to eventually quit the show.
Beresford, 40, was born in Bristol, England. He is biracial — his mom is British and white while his father is Guyanese, Page Six reported.
He worked as a teleprompter operator before he became a weather presenter in 2005. He has been part of "Good Morning Britain" since it began in 2014.
Beresford appeared on "Dancing on Ice" in 2018 and was partnered with Brianne Delcourt. He announced his stint on the show on Twitter in November 2017.
"Pleased to announce the awesome @Brianne_TV as my skate partner for @dancingonice. Bring it on," he tweeted at the time.
"I literally started training on Tuesday so I'm at the beginning of my journey. I've wanted to do this show for ages. It's been the biggest secret I've ever kept," he said after announcing that he was part of the show.
In one episode of "Good Morning Britain," Morgan teased Beresford with his dancing partner.
"In The Sun today, I was struck by the charms of this young lady. Then I realised it’s Brianne, Alex’s dance partner. Are we keeping things just to the ice?" he asked the weatherman.
"Yes, we are," Beresford, who was married at the time, said.
In June 2020, the "GMB" weather presenter announced that he and his wife, Natalia Natkaniec, had separated "despite trying to make things work." Beresford said he felt "really lonely" and didn't think he would be looking for love again when he reached 40.
"It's been a massive learning curve, I didn't think at the age of 20 that when I was approaching 40, I would be in this situation," he was quoted by Daily Mail as saying. "The age of 40, you'll be married, you'll be a grown up, you'll have a kid or two, your life is going to be set. I'm not old, I don't feel old, it's a bit daunting.”
Beresford and Natkaniec share one son, Cruz.
