Ian Somerhalder, Nikki Reed Pregnancy: Couple Has Always Wanted A Baby

Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed have always wanted to have a baby and now their dreams are coming true as they are expecting a new addition to their family.

Somerhalder and Reed may have just celebrated their second anniversary last month but a source told Us Weekly that the “Twilight” star and “The Vampire Diaries” actor “really wanted a baby.” Now, they are getting what they have always wanted.

“Nikki said she always knew she wanted to have kids before she turned 30,” the same source added. Somerhalder was also as eager in expanding their family. The soon-to-be-dad said in an interview that he will definitely have children with Reed.

“It’s the most incredible thing to be happy and secure in something,” Somerhalder told Entertainment Tonight. “It’s a pretty crazy time and place to bring a child into this turbulent and insane world -- but I really can’t wait to do it and really just love it.”

“They are incredibly happy together. Ian worships Nikki. He’s so sweet to her and treats her like a queen!” the insider added.

A week ago, Somerhalder announced that his wife is pregnant. He posted a photo of the soon-to-be-mom with him kneeling and kissing her baby bump on Instagram. The expectant parents are visibly overjoyed with their upcoming baby.

“To our friends, family, and rest of the world. In my 38 years on this earth I've never experienced anything more powerful and beautiful than this. I can't think of anything more exciting than this next chapter and we wanted you to hear this from us first,” Somerhalder wrote in the caption. “This has been the most special time of our lives and we wanted to keep it between the three of us for as long as possible so we could enjoy this time with each other and our little one who is growing so fast...because that's what they do, they grow so fast. Thank you for your kind energy. Love, Ian.”

Reed posted the same photo on her Instagram and penned a sweet message for their little one. “Hi Little One/ I know you, but only because I feel you. How is it possible to love someone so much already? All I know for sure is it's the strongest feeling I've ever felt,” she wrote in the caption.

Reed added that they’ve been sharing her body for quite some time and that they experienced a lot of things together. However, it remains unknown when she is due and if their baby is a girl or a boy. Regardless of this information, the soon-to-be-parents are already very excited to meet their bundle of joy.

Aside from their upcoming baby, the couple just launched their new clothing line, Bayou With Love. Their products offer sustainable and low-chemical options for expectant mothers. In her photo, Reed wore one of their collections “Nikki Dress” and it complimented her growing baby bump.

Somerhalder and Reed, who celebrated their second wedding anniversary on April 26, both posted sweet messages on their social media accounts. “We climb, we grow, and we laugh at all of it. Thank you for being exactly who you are, and for loving all of me. Thank you for your willingness to go even deeper. Until you, I had no idea what could be. Until you...Happy Anniversary,” Reed wrote on her Instagram account.
