Iggy Azalea Announces Collaboration With Azealia Banks After Ending Longtime Feud
Iggy Azalea is collaborating with former nemesis Azealia Banks on her next album.
Azalea and Banks have a long history of feuding, but the two female rappers recently put their beef behind them and made up. To celebrate the end of their bad blood, Azalea and Banks will work together on a track for the former’s upcoming album, “Digital Distortion,” E! News reported. “Public service announcement. Azealia is going to be on DD. We are collaborating. Burn your wigs now or preserve them in your freezer for release day,” Azalea said on Snapchat.

As for when the album will drop, Azalea previously told “Zang Sang Show” that she will release her new music at the end of June. “I think it’s supposed to be June 30th or 31st,” the rapper said. However, June 31st does not exist, while the other date mentioned has already come and gone.
Prior to announcing her collab with Banks, Azalea shared a lengthy post on Snapchat where she expressed her wish to reconcile with the rapper from Harlem. “I just want to say FYI; re A. Banks. Call me crazy but girl; I don’t hate you. I don’t know you to hate you,” she wrote.
Azalea explained that she did not agree with many of Banks’ opinions, but she empathized with her. She also wished that the “212” rapper had spoken to her before she believed the rumors that Azalea was out to get her. Azalea added that as adults, they should get “past trivial beef with strangers.”
However, not everyone was supportive of Azalea’s wish to work with Banks, including one fan on Twitter who wrote: “I’ve decided to unstan iggy. Bye. You made a massive mistake.”
The “Black Widow” rapper did not ignore the comment and even took the time to answer, saying: “If you [can’t] understand my desire to turn YEARS worth of negativity into a positive interaction then [that’s] your loss my dear. peace!”
Meanwhile, Banks has asked for an open discussion with the rapper. She explained that there should be an acknowledgment of true hip-hop and mentioned Azalea’s racial privilege. “Race aside, this is also a women’s issue,” Banks told XXL of her feud with Azalea. “I hope that there will be a chance for us to have an open discussion about this, as I feel America and the world could really benefit from some candid discourse between two public figures about the world’s biggest sickness: racism. I wish for women of the future to be able to refer to this moment in women’s culture as an example of what can happen when people take time to understand.”
