Immigration Reform 2014: Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson Predicts Executive Action On Immigration Reform By Year's End
Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson said Saturday the president likely will issue a series of executive orders on immigration before the end of the year. The move could anger Republicans who have warned any such action could scuttle hopes for bipartisan cooperation.
Johnson, speaking at the Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California, said whatever actions President Obama takes will be comprehensive and include efforts to strengthen border security, Reuters reported.
"We’re in the final stages of developing some executive actions," Johnson said. "We have a broken immigration system. The more I delve into it, the more problems I see."
