‘Insecure' Season 4 Premiered And Fans Have Big Thoughts About This Character
Issa Dee is back in L.A.’s southside, giving us a taste of her quirky personality and always-complicated love life. HBO's "Insecure" Season 4 has already made sure to deliver in another aspect as well: drama between Issa and her BFF Molly (Yvonne Orji).
(Spoiler Alert: This post contains spoilers for "Insecure" Season 4, episode 1.)
"Insecure" Season 4 has set itself up as a season focused on the intricacies of female friendship. In the premiere, Molly claimed that Issa (Issa Rae) enjoys her life being “messy” in reference to her plan to continue a friendship with a woman (Condola) who is dating her ex.
“You know, your life doesn’t have to be this messy,” Molly tells Issa, according to TV Line.
Fans of “Insecure” are well-aware of the constantly tumultuous relationship between the lead of the show, Issa, and her consistent best friend, Molly. Since Season 1, Molly has remained the overachieving, sometimes selfish, lawyer friend, to Issa’s quirky, humble, non-profit driven mindset. Throughout the show, they have frequently butt heads while also utilizing their opposing strengths to help one another through life’s problems.

However, fans are already annoyed at Molly’s accusatory statement to Issa, considering the drama she too has experienced on the show and her tendency to self-sabotage her own relationships.
The first episode also gave fans an update on Molly’s own relationship status with her romantic interest from last season, Andrew, dubbed “Asian bae” by Issa.
“I think I’m going to end things with Andrew,” Molly tells Issa after finding out he is dating other women.
Many fans were infuriated by Molly’s tendency to destroy her personal relationships, not only romantically, but her friendships as well.

Like for real though. How weird was it for Molly to come into an important event for Issa, say hi, and then immediately go into some trite dating “drama”??

Sometimes if you’re not gonna show up with the right energy to support friends, stay home. #InsecureHBO
Molly is a prime example of how we can sometime get too comfortable saying mean and hurtful things to our friends and think it’s okay cause we’re friends. #InsecureHBO pic.twitter.com/lTGKOU2cI2
