Adam Levine has now become a neighbor of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after he made an expensive move by purchasing a sprawling compound in the opulent community of Montecito.
Dirt revealed earlier this week that the Maroon 5 frontman and his model wife Behati Prinsloo snatched up the almost century-old El Miraval estate in the coveted Santa Barbara, California community for $22.7 million.
If Levine and Prinsloo were to stay in their new mansion, they would be living close to many celebrities aside from the royal couple. Rob Lowe, Ariana Grande, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom and even Oprah have houses in the area.
Designed by George Washington Smith, the massive 5.2-acre property dates back to the early 1920s. The Mediterranean villa style mansion is said to feature nine bedrooms and 11 bathrooms. Apart from the main house, the property also has a two-bedroom guesthouse, a detached five-car garage and a garden cottage.
The estate had been on and off the market for years before Levine bought it for way less than its initial $29.5 million asking price. And he really got a good deal out of it since some structures on the property have interesting features. For instance, the garden cottage actually offers additional sleeping space. The detached garage also has extra staff quarters, as per Daily Mail.
The outdoor facilities further make the property a worthy purchase for Levine and Prinsloo. Apparently, it has multiple covered and uncovered patios for dining and other activities. It also has a putting green, a tennis court and even a swimming pool.
This is Levine and Prinsloo’s latest multimillion real estate investment since they purchased a $32 million mansion from exes Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck in 2019. According to Architectural Digest, that sizable property located in the Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles features 3.1 acres of land and a 16,000-square-foot house.
Meanwhile, the mansion that Levine sold to famous talk show host Ellen DeGeneres for $45 million is now up for grabs after the latter listed it on the market for $53.3 million early this month. Levine originally bought the estate from “Will & Grace” creator Max Mutchnick for $34 million. After spending a large sum for its renovation, the singer decided to sell it for $47.5 million but eventually settled with DeGeneres’ offer.
