- Karp is a writer, podcast host and art gallery owner who claimed to have found shrimp tails inside a box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch
With "Shrimp Tail Gate" going viral on social media this week, the man who claimed to have found sugar-encrusted shrimp tails inside a box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Jensen Karp, is also in the spotlight. But for those thinking he might be after some money, Karp and his wife, "Boy Meets World" star Danielle Fishel, are hardly struggling.
"Cinnamon Toast Crunch shrimp guy" Karp, who is a comedian, writer and podcast host, and his actress wife are living in a family-sized home in Woodland Hills, California, with their son Adler. They purchased the refurbished 1950s residence back in 2019 for $1.7 million, Variety reported.
Described as an “urban ranch,” the two-story property spans about 3,800 square feet and comes with five bedrooms and four bathrooms. Two guest bedrooms can be found on the main floor and share a renovated hall bathroom, while a third one has a bathroom of its own.
The master suite boasts a gray granite fireplace, a high-vaulted ceiling, private balcony, walk-in closet and a marble-accented bathroom with a patterned-tile floor, a two-person soaking tub and a separate shower. It also has enough space for a sitting area.
Aside from these, the California residence features a wood-beamed cathedral ceiling with skylights, a family room with wood-trimmed glass sliders that has access to the pool and a bonus room that can be made into a gym or a home office.
As for the backyard, it boasts both open and covered patios, a poolside lounge and an outdoor fireplace.
It’s not surprising that they have the money to splurge. Fishel has been working as an actress since the early ‘90s, and her net worth is currently valued at $4 million, as per Celebrity Net Worth.
She shot to fame for her role as Topanga Lawrence-Matthews on “Boy Meets World,” appearing in 134 episodes of the hit sitcom across its seven-year run. Fishel also appeared in the spin-off series "Girl Meets World," which ran for three seasons from 2014 to 2017. Fishel went on to become a correspondent of “The Tyra Banks Show” and host of television programs “Say What? Karaoke,” “The Dish" and "The Fuse 20."
Meanwhile, her husband has also made a name for himself in the entertainment industry. He was once known by his hip-hop alter-ego, Hot Karl, per Entertainment Weekly. After signing a million-dollar record deal with Interscope in his early-20s, he recorded his supposed debut album, “Your Housekeeper Hates You,” which featured guest appearances by Redman, Kanye West and will.i.am, but it was never officially released.
He has gone on to produce and write for TV and radio and currently co-owns and operates Gallery 1988, two pop art focused galleries in Los Angeles, California. Karp also penned two books, "Kanye West Owes Me $300: And Other True Stories from a White Rapper Who Almost Made It Big" and "Just Can't Get Enough."
