After letting the entire world know about his humble beginnings in his latest album, "Donda," rap superstar Kanye West dropped a staggering $57.3 million on a Malibu Mansion near Kim Kardashian’s equally luxurious $60 million home.

The 44-year-old rapper recently caught the entertainment world’s attention by rebuilding his very humble childhood home during the "Donda" album listening party in Chicago’s Soldier Field in August.

However, his newly bought beachside mansion showcased his luxurious lifestyle and longstanding taste for minimalism.

So, what makes West’s newest mansion unique from other celebrity homes?

The 5,700-square-foot mansion is one of the few homes in the United States designed by renowned Japanese architect Tadao Ando. According to Dirt, West is a lowkey fan of Ando’s work, particularly the latter’s "Art Island" in Naoshima, Japan.

The Malibu beachside mansion was built in 2013 by Marmol Radziner and was originally owned by Wall Street financier Richard Sachs.

West purchased the mansion through an off-market deal with Sachs.

The three-level mansion sits beside a two-way public street that local surfers and beachgoers regularly traverse. It has four bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms and a huge glass pivot door facing the beach.

The lowest level has three ensuite guest bedrooms. The middle level is where the public areas are located— the kitchen, powder room, and living room. And the top-level serves as the penthouse -- with its bedroom suite, a firepit and a seaside terrace that offers a stunning view of Malibu Beach.

Its interiors aren’t published online, but Marmol Radzinerdescribed the design as minimalist "yet warm."

Since it's built beside a public road, commuting won’t be a problem for West. He is a few minutes away from Malibu’s other attractions and his estranged wife, Kardashian, and his children in Hidden Hills.

Despite the outstanding design, many quickly pointed out that the mansion lacks privacy. It is because it sits closely in between two other neighboring houses.

The mansion will be West's latest addition to his fancy real estate properties. In addition, he has a $14 million ranch in Wyoming, a condominium in Calabasas, and two other condos with minimalist designs in New York.
