Inside Kate Middleton, Prince William’s Basic Edinburgh Terraced House During University Days
Kate Middleton and Prince William’s shared a pad during their university days.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge met during their college years. They started as good friends before they fell in love, dated and eventually got married.
Middleton reportedly caught the attention of the future king when she modeled at a charity catwalk wearing a daring, sheer outfit. According to Becky Pemberton of The Sun, after they returned for their second year at the University of St. Andrews, Prince William, Middleton and their two other pals Fergus Boyd and Olivia Bleasdale opted to live off campus in a quaint two-story home in the city. The couple moved into 13A Hope Street which costs $123 per week each.
Their pad included a small kitchen and the basic furniture. One of the photos featured a blue sofa with matching blue lamp on the side. Their room is very spacious and cozy.
Despite Prince William being the future king of England, he still pitched in with cleaning duties when he wasn’t studying for his Geography degree. Charlotte Smith, the landlady confessed that she nearly refused Prince William in staying in the pad because she had “no-boys” policy.
Smith discussed the situation with her husband and he eventually persuaded her to accept the royal. Smith added that they were surprised that Prince William, Middleton and their friends chose their flat, but she believed that they liked it because it was very nice with ample living space in the centre of the town and it had a reputation for being one of the best flats for comforts in St. Andrews.
Despite Smith’s initial concerns, she later learned that Prince William and Middleton were “ideal tenants.” She also said that the duke was “very friendly, very charming….thoroughly nice man.” She also added that Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s son didn’t haggle on the “very reasonably priced” rent.
In related news, Prince William and Middleton will be traveling to Pakistan soon. According to Richard Kay, there are possibilities that their would be canceled if the officials are not satisfied with the security arrangement.
