Did Instagram delete your account? The photo-sharing app has locked and deleted hundreds of accounts over the past 24 hours, and users who have confirmed their phone numbers still report that their accounts were disabled.

Instagram's official account responded around 5 p.m. EDT via Twitter: “We’re aware of a bug that's causing some users to be logged out of their accounts. We’re working to resolve this as quickly as possible.”

Users have been reporting login errors through Reddit, Twitter and Facebook with messages popping up saying: “Your account has been disabled for violating our terms. Learn how you may be able to restore your account.” Another message has simply responded, “There was a problem logging you into Instagram. Please try again soon.”

Despite Instagram's response, several users say that they're not being locked out, but instead their account is being deleted altogether. "It's NOT logging us OUT it's DELETING accounts and DELETING photos off the accounts!!! FIX THIS!!!!!"

Reddit user “KingPimpyMax” started one of several threads complaining that a visual glitch isn’t allowing them to log in even after they’ve complied with the prompt to confirm their cell phone number tied to the account: “It promptly sends me a message with my 6-digit code and I enter it but my keyboard is in the way of the submit button, also I can't do this on any other device because when I do the same process it takes me back to the login screen. Help.”

Other users said they gave up and just created new accounts altogether.

Instagram’s official Twitter account is littered with dozens of replies complaining about the issue with many taking screenshots of different error messages and others taking to all-caps to proclaim: I CAN’T WATCH UR INSTAGRAM STORY BECAUSE U DELETED MY ACCOUNT!!!!!”

Other reports claim the Instagram deletions are limited to business or fanpage accounts. But many are weary of the timing, with Instagram having deleted Rob Kardashian's verified account after he posted a series of explicit photos of Blac Chyna. However, it's still unclear if the Kardashian deletion is related to the current wave of account deletions.
