Stout Day is marked annually Nov. 5 to celebrate the craft beer revolution. International Stout Day was founded by Erin Peters – aka The Beer Goddess.

This is not an annual holiday but is celebrated in breweries and bars worldwide. Here are some quotes about beer to mark this day:

1. "They chose 'beer as soda pop.' Craft brewers are 'beer as wine.' ― Michael Jackson

2. “A beer doesn't have to be difficult to acquire, but damned if that doesn't make everything taste better.” ― Patrick Dawson

3. "He is a wise man who invented beer." – Plato

4. "From man’s sweat and God’s love, beer came into the world." - Saint Arnold of Metz

5. "Beer, if drank with moderation, softens the temper,
cheers the spirit and promotes health.
" - Thomas Jefferson

6. “There is to me something profoundly affects in large masses of men following the lead of those who do not believe in men, and beer”- Walt Whitman

7. “Beer, if drunk in moderation, softens the temper, cheers the spirit, and promotes health”- Thomas Jefferson

8. "Beer, it's the best damn drink in the world."- Jack Nicholson

9. "The beer tastes good to my throat, cold and bitter, and the three boys and the beer and the queer freeness of the situation makes me feel like laughing forever. So I laugh, and my lipstick leaves a red stain like a bloody crescent moon on top of the beer can. I am looking very healthy and flushed and bright-eyed, having both a good tan and a rather excellent fever." - Sylvia Plath, "The Journals of Sylvia Plath"

10. “Drinking beer is easy. Trashing your hotel room is easy. But being a Christian, that’s a tough call. That’s rebellion.” – Alice Cooper
