March 8 marks International Women's Day. It is one of the most important days of the year to celebrate women's achievements and raise awareness about gender equality.

The first International Women's Day gathering was held back in 1911 and has since become a "global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women," according to its website. It also states that the day does not belong to any specific country, organization corporation or women's net worth but "belongs to all groups collectively everywhere."
