iOS 11 And watchOS 4: New Apple Watch And iPhone Health Features Will Help With Your Workouts
The iOS 11 update, for iPads and iPhones, and the watchOS 4 update, for the Apple Watch, will come with numerous health features. The software updates, which were revealed this week at WWDC, will help users keep track of their health status and workouts.

There are several health features that will be included.
iOS 11
iOS 11 will allows you to sync your health data across devices. The new update will share your health data via iCloud with your Apple Watch, iPad and iPhone. The iOS 11 and watchOS 4 updates also sync music playlists from Apple Music to your Apple Watch for your workouts.
watchOS 4
Syncing Gym Equipment Workout Data
With watchOS 4, users won’t have to worry about calculating how many calories are burned throughout the day. The update will allow users to transfer workout data from gym equipment to an Apple Watch with just a tap. The watchOS 4 feature will be compatible with equipment from Life Fitness, MS Artrix, Schwinn, Cybex, Technogym, Stair Master and Star Trac. The feature allows users to keep a more accurate calorie count.
Challenges And Achievements
The update will also allow users' Apple Watch to act as a coach by providing personalized progress updates and alerts on achievements for motivation. WatchOS 4 will also send evening reminders to boost daily workouts, like suggesting to take a 10-minute walk at the end of the day. The update will also send personalized monthly challenges, based on what was achieved in the previous month.

Workouts
WatchOS 4 will also come with a Quick Start feature, which will allow users to jump into a workout session with just a tap. The new Apple Watch update also comes with a Quick Switch feature, which changes the types of workouts in a session. It’s easier to add a workout too, by swiping to the left and tapping on the plus icon.
The update also features High-Intensity Interval Training, which comes with a custom heart rate and motion monitoring that allows for a more accurate calorie count.
WatchOS 4 will also be useful for swimmers with its updated Pool Swim workout with autosense. The feature automatically tracks set paces and rests, as well as distances for each stroke type. The Apple Watch also collects surfboard data by counting calories while out surfing the waves.
Apple revealed its Do Not Disturb While Driving feature for iOS 11, and it's doing something similar for watchOS 4. The Apple Watch update comes with a Do Not Disturb feature, to avoid interruptions, such as emails as and texts, while working out.
WatchOS will also help with those who want to keep track of their sugar with glucose monitoring.
IOS 11 and watchOS 4 are set to be released this fall.
