iPhone 11 Features: Only One Model Is Getting Triple-Camera Module?
Apple’s next flagship phone, which we’re unofficially calling the iPhone 11, is only a few months away if we’re banking on the Cupertino giant’s strict annual schedule of releasing the next iOS smartphone.
For the past few months, however, the iPhone 11 has been getting mostly negative press. The triple-camera module which seems to be a done deal already based on various leaked information is on top of all the less than flattering publicity. Apple analysts have described the feature as “ugly” and “boring” despite its redeeming qualities (it’s supposed to make the iPhone’s new camera really powerful).
This is why people like Forbes’ Gordon Kelly has been very adamant that buyers should wait until next year before they decide to purchase a new iPhone. However, some compelling new details are actually making us think otherwise - only one of the new iPhones is actually getting the triple-camera system.
According to TechRadar, only the highest-end iPhone 2019, presumably the iPhone 11 Max will actually have three rear cameras while the other two (iPhone 11 and XR 2) will have dual cameras instead. Bloomberg also reported this possibility and said that the smaller iPhone handsets will “eventually” have the triple-camera lens which could mean that some of the 2019 lines won’t have one.
As for phones with the dual-camera system, it would be the same one that’s currently available in the iPhone XS and XS Max. This function is already a solid feature in the old models so it would be exciting to know that Apple’s supposed next budget model would have it as well.
The triple-camera system is a sophisticated function, to begin with and is reported to have a 12MP wide-angle lens along with the 12MP main lens plus a telephoto lens on the iPhone XS range.
The flash is also expected to be brighter and will even have a “smart frame” function that aims to adjust distorted photos using extra image details taken using other camera lenses.
The front camera is also expected to be quite excellent with a new slow-mo video recording feature to boot. Add to the camera functions, this year’s iPhone will be the first to have the groundbreaking new logic board that’ll be powered with an excellent A13 chip. This means that the new phone is expected to be faster and have longer battery life, new features that will now be available in future models.
