Motorola has introduced Motorola Droid RAZR, a device that combines two of the most iconic mobile brand names, Droid and RAZR. The main question being asked is how far it can compete with Apple's iPhone 4S.

Here is a comparison of specs and features of iPhone 4S and Droid RAZR.

iPhone 4S runs on Apple's iOS 5 and it has the much-heralded Siri voice control assistant on board and a swath of improvements from wireless syncing to a new Notification system. Motorola Droid RAZR runs on Google's Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread operating system.

iPhone 4S weighs 140g and measures 115.2 x 58.6 x 9.3 mm. Motorola Droid RAZR is 7.1 mm thick and weighs 127 grams.

iPhone 4S will have a 3.5-inch TFT Retina multi-touch display, with 960x640 resolutions at 330 ppi pixel density. iPhone 4S features 1GHz dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor, PowerVR SGX543MP2 GPU and an Apple A5 chipset. Motorola Droid RAZR has a 4.3in Super AMOLED display with a qHD resolution of 540x960, is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, has 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory with a microSD card slot for extra storage.

iPhone 4S camera has an 8 megapixel sensor that takes 3,264x2,448-pixel pictures. It will capture vibrant photos, especially in low light. The camera is claimed to be 30 per cent sharper than the one found on iPhone 4. The new RAZR has an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with full HD 1080p video recording and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera that will record 720p HD video.

iPhone 4S is currently available on AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon in the U.S. It's also available on an assortment of carriers around the world. RAZR is available exclusively on Verizon but it will also be launching around the world as the Motorola RAZR. Countries and carriers are currently unknown.

Motorola Droid RAZR is a 4G LTE phone. Verizon is going to be charging a premium to the tune of $299 on a new two year contract. In comparison, iPhone 4S, which costs the same on all carriers, has an asking price of $199 for a 16GB model, $299 for a 32GB variant and $399 for the 64GB option.
