iPhone 6s Pokemon Go Edition With Maximum PokeCoins To Go On Sale In Russia
As the craze over Niantic’s “Pokémon Go” and the hype over Apple’s upcoming iPhone 7 smartphones intensify, Caviar found a very opportune time to release its iPhone 6s Pokemon Go Edition.
The Russian luxury company announced on Tuesday that it is preparing to release the special edition iPhones in time with the debut of the popular game in Russia which is yet to be known as of writing.
The iPhone 6s Pokemon Go Edition will come with a special back design that is worthy of being called a legendary Pokémon item.
Based on the photos showcased on Caviar’s website, the back panel is embossed with stylistic details and silhouettes of Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres. A gold Pokémon ball is situated at the upper half of the panel and serves as the highlight of the design.
To make the device even more interesting, Caviar said that players will enjoy owning the luxury handset, because its “Pokémon Go” app is already loaded with the maximum amount of PokeCoins.
Caviar revealed that there will only be 77 copies of the special edition handset, and each device comes with a $2,700 price tag, according to GSM Arena.
Caviar’s venture to produce the luxurious special edition handsets comes in the wake of Russia’s federal antitrust body’s decision to open an investigation on the allegations concerning the price-fixing of iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus handsets in the country.
Russia’s Federal Anti-Monopoly Services announced the opening of the investigation on Monday, saying that Apple and 16 resellers may have conspired to set the pricing of the smartphones, 9To5Mac reported.
Both Euroset, Russia’s largest mobile retailer, and Apple have already denied the accusations.
Meanwhile, the Cupertino giant is expected to release the iPhone 7 and possibly two other variants this September, with Forbes reporting that the home button for the upcoming devices will be touch-capacitive like the Macbook’s trackpad.
