iPhone 7S Rumors: New Leaked Photo Shows iPhone 7S or iPhone SE Could Feature Ion-X Glass Display
The next iPhone SE or iPhone 7S could come with a strengthened Ion-X glass display, a leaked photo submitted to Slashleaks and found by MacRumors shows.
The image shows the back of a black iPhone with a sheet under it that suggests the device will come with an Ion-X glass display, like the material found on some Apple Watch devices. The paperwork could belong to Apple manufacturers Foxconn, Pegatron or Wistron.

The leaked photo, which was found on Chinese social platform Sina Weibo, shows the device under the codename “N79.” The image shows two vertical cutouts, one for a single-lens camera and another for what could be an LED flash. The device’s back camera system is different from what is rumored for the iPhone 8. The 10th anniversary device is expected to come with a vertical dual-camera system.
Here’s the leaked photo of the iPhone SE or iPhone 7S:
It’s unclear whether the leaked image is legitimate, and it’s unknown whether the Ion-X glass display will be featured on the iPhone SE or iPhone 7S. It could be the iPhone 7S, since Apple already released its latest iPhone SE in March. For the most recent iPhone SE version, Apple doubled the capacity of the previous 4-inch iPhone SE models, which came with 16GB and 64GB. The iPhone SE now has capacities of 32GB and 128GB, priced at $399 and $499, respectively.
iPhone 7S Rumors
Apple is expected to release three models this year, the iPhone 8, iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus.
A previous report said the rumored iPhone 7S, which is expected to measure 4.7 inches, will continue using an aluminum-alloy chassis supplied by Catcher Technology.
KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo previously said the iPhone 7S could pack as much battery capacity as the iPhone 7 Plus.
Meanwhile, Barclays analysts said in March Apple will include True Tone displays on all three models to be released this year.
Other rumors have suggested Apple will not release the iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus this year, and that the company has dropped “S” upgrades. Apple reportedly will focus on launching the iPhone 8 and an iPhone 8 Plus.
iPhone 8 Leaked Images
Meanwhile, new renders of the upcoming iPhone 8 apparently were leaked Tuesday. The images, released by MySmartPrice and @OnLeaks, are believed to have come from a factory working on the much-anticipated device.
The photos suggest the iPhone 8 will sport an edge-to-edge OLED display and an all-glass back panel as previous rumors have indicated. The images also show a vertical dual camera system and no home button, which indicates Apple could embed the phone’s Touch ID in the display.
Other rumors suggest the iPhone 8 will come with a 3D-sensing front camera and wireless charging.
