iPhone 8 Rumors: Samsung Display To Supply AMOLED Panels Apple's 2017 iPhone Lineup
Samsung Display will supply AMOLED panels for Apple’s new 2017 iPhone lineup, Taiwan-based manufacturers said, according to DigiTimes.
Samsung Display will be the exclusive supplier of AMOLED panels for iPhones and can provide a maximum of 20 million units a month.
Apple will release 4.7-inch, 5.5-inch and 5.8-inch iPhone models next year, sources said. TFT-LCD panels will be used on the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch models, while the AMOLED panels will be used on the 5.8-inch version.
The DigiTimes reported : “Global shipments of the AMOLED iPhone in 2017 are estimated at 60-70 million units” and “supply chain makers of the new iPhone will begin production in small volumes in March 2017 and increase output in May-June.”
The report also said Nissha Printing, a Japanese company, will supply touch sensors for the AMOLED panels.

Apple is rumored to release three iPhone models next year for the device’s 10th anniversary. The iPhone 8 rumors and improvements include a new high-end OLED model, two new models with LCD screens. A recent report says the iPhone 8 OLED versions might come with a curved display, supplied by Samsung.
Other iPhone 8 features that could be included in the new models are a glass back and a bright, flexible screen, iris/facial scanning and A11 processor. The new models might also ditch the home button.
