iPhone SE 2 Plus Reportedly Launching 2021; Features Full-Screen Design, No Face ID
We already know that Apple will launch iPhone SE 2 by the end of Mar. 2020. Recently, Macrumors reported that Apple would release five models of the said compact iPhone that will happen in the first half and second half of next year. But a new report claims that the Cupertino tech giant will release the iPhone SE 2 Plus in 2021 with a whole new design and exciting set of features.
Following his research notes about the Apple iPhone 13 shipping without Lightning port, TFI Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has another prediction this time concerning iPhone SE 2 Plus. Apple will launch iPhone SE 2 Plus in the first half of 2021, Kuo predicts. The model will be very different from the iPhone SE scheduled to arrive in 2020, Kuo adds.
The iPhone SE 2 will have a display size of either 5.5-inch or 6.1-inch and will adopt a full-screen design, the TFI analyst says. Additionally, the notch area of the upcoming handset will be a little smaller because it will not have Face ID support. Moreover, its Touch ID will be embedded with the power button, located on the side of the handset, Kuo shares.
Earlier, we reported that Qualcomm launched the 3D Sonic Max, which is a more extensive, faster, and more secure ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint reader. The initial assumption was that the Cupertino tech juggernaut would tap the company for its new ultrasonic sensor. But, it appears that this will not be included in the iPhone SE 2 Plus probably because of its lower retail price compared to other iPhone models.
Apple may have other reasons for scrapping the Touch Id on the iPhone SE 2 Plus. At the moment, in-screen fingerprint readers can only be embedded under OLED screens. If Apple will forego the Touch ID on the iPhone SE 2 Plus, it seems that the company will stick to the cheaper LCD panel.
Despite this, Apple fans can still get more screen real estate paired with a robust hardware specification at a very affordable price point. But, we would like to remind you that these details are unofficial and are mere predictions of a reliable Apple tipster. As the case, take this information with a pinch of salt.
