Some iPhone users complain about app crashes, or not being able to launch certain apps, on their handsets. These users claimed that whenever they tried to open or launch these apps, they would be greeted with a message that says, “This app is no longer shared with you.”

One particular iPhone user shared the experience over on the MacRumors forums and said that whenever the message appears and the user follows the prompt to view the app in App Store, the only option shown there is to “open” the app. When the user does try to open the app, the message appears again, as if in a loop.

The issue has affected many popular apps, which include Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, TikTok, YouTube, LastPass, and more. The issue seems to have affected many consumers who are using iPhones running on iOS 13.4.1 and iOS 13.5, the latest iOS version.

Although there are users who claimed to have faced the problem after updating apps recently, not everyone who use these iOS versions appeared to suffer from the same problems. Because of this, MacRumors noted that the cause remains unclear.

What's clear, however, is that there are two ways to deal with the problem. One of them requires that users lose data, while the other does not.

Not worried about data loss?

Those who don't mind losing the data on the affected apps, or have already backed the data up via iCloud, can simply delete the app then reinstall it again. This normally removes the “ this app is no longer shared with you” message.

Want to keep all that data?

Those who don't want to lose all the data stored on the affected apps can try doing what is called “offloading.” This sort of deletes the app reinstalls it again before the user could use it. User data, however, won't be deleted. Here's how to offload affected apps:

  • First, users should go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage.
  • Second, once there, users should scroll down to locate the affected app, then tap on the app's name.
  • Third, users should tap on Offload App.

This will prompt the iPhone to download and reinstall the affected app. Users should keep doing this for as long as they need to.
