Iran to launch monkey into space
Iran plans to send a monkey into space.
Iranian President Mahmud Ahmedinejad revealed the capsule designed for the monkey in February.
An Iranian Kavosghar-5 rocket will launch the monkey some 74 miles into the air sometime in July or August, according to Iranian Space Agency head Hamid Fazli.
Previous space missions have launched smaller animals like rats and worms into the air.
Meanwhile, Iranian state television reported that they have successfully launched a homemade satellite into space.
Satellite Rasad is the second satellite to be launched into space after the first launching in 2009.
Analysts say Western powers are worried that the satellite will be used for reconnaissance.
