  • Klopp has admitted that it will still be hard to say no to the big clubs
  • His comments have come amid rumors linking Salah and Mane to Barca and Real

Liverpool FC has seen Spanish giant clubs take away talented players from Anfield and boss Jurgen Klopp has admitted that it will remain difficult to avoid such offers in the coming future.

His remarks have come amidst rumors that have recently linked Liverpool superstars Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane to FC Barcelona and Real Madrid.

The duo of Luis Suarez and Philippe Coutinho are among the more recent stars to have switched their life in Merseyside to Catalunya.

Referring to Coutinho and Suarez’s transfer to Barca, Klopp said, "I think for some players, if Barcelona or Real call, it’s still hard to say ‘no’. I think for the whole world, Liverpool are one of the top, top, top, top clubs.”

“But in the South American part of the world, the other two are a bit more famous which makes sense language and culture-wise. It’s why calls from them could always cause some trouble, but apart from that, there are not 500 clubs who could buy players from us,” the German manager added in an interview with the Independent.

He further spoke about Liverpool’s previous season’s transfer rounds as he said, “Last summer, we did Sepp [van den Berg], Harvey [Elliott] and Adrian and people were not happy that we didn’t do any more than that because they think we need this and that here and there,” Klopp said. "We will see if we can make the right decisions again. It doesn’t depend on us alone, it’s the market, it’s the things around that will have an influence. It’s not that we are going mad about what is out there – we want the right player, we don’t just sign any.”

Ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window, The Reds are being linked with expensive moves with RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner and Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho supposedly on the club’s target list.

Liverpool, who were trailing 2-1 at Anfield, went on to defeat West Ham 3-2 Monday to march closer to the title. The Reds are now just 12 points away from clinching their first Premier League trophy in 30 years.
