The always controversial presidential son Donald Trump Jr. turned 42 on December 31 and drew an immediate declaration of sisterly love from Ivanka, who tweeted: "Happy Birthday to the best big brother! I love you very much! @DonaldJTrumpJr. "

The accompanying photo shows Don Jr, Ivanka and Eric as tweens playing around on a bed. Don Jr. was a blonde at the time. Needless to say, the rest of social media wasn't as enthused as Ivanka was over her brother's birthday, and in this "Season of Impeachment," the comments weren't all this neighborly.

The flak Don Jr. keeps taking can be considered par for the course. He stirred-up a hornet's nest with his former Number One Best Selling book on The New York Times nonfiction list, "Triggered: How the Left Thrives on Hate and Wants to Silence Us." What made the book controversial is the Times appended a demoralizing dagger symbol (†) next to the book's title, which suggests bulk sales are driving a book's sales. The Times said the dagger indicates "institutional, special interest, group or bulk purchases" of the book comprise a significant part of its sales. The book was released Nov. 5.

When Don Jr.'s 305 page book made the Times' bestseller list, a spokesman for the Republican National Committee (RNC) admitted they'd bought many copies of the book "to keep up with demand." He, however, denied they purchased the book in a "large bulk purchase." The bulk sales were confirmed after an investigative reporter broke the news.

From then on, Don Jr. has been a target on social media for whatever it is he tweets about. He was blasted for not knowing when the 12 Days of Christmas starts (it begins December 25 and ends January 5); for urging Republicans to pick fights with their Democrat relatives on Thanksgiving and for fleeing a book signing of "Triggered" after being booed by Republicans.

Don Jr. received more bad birthday wishes than good birthday wishes when he turned 42. "His next birthday should be spent in prison," tweeted an obvious non-admirer.

Another asked Ivanka: "Awww what Grift did you chose to grift him this year? A voting machine?" And a more hurtful tweet saw someone draw bars representing a prison window onto the picture of the three Trump kids. The caption reads, "Imagine."

Trump supporters also made their presence felt, but not in numbers as large at those on the other side of the fence. A liker tweeted, "Wow! Happy birthday. Best to all of you. 2020 is going to be great." Another said, "It is not so much the accomplishments of this wonderful family, it is the many years of preparation and hard work. OUR country is very appreciative."

Another supporter tweeted, "Happy blessed Birthday Donald Trump jr. I hope you have the greatest Birthday dear Sir!!!! God’s richest blessings for you dear Sir and your dear precious Family!!!!" To which someone replied, "I’d hate to meet the worst big brother!"
