Jada Pinkett Smith On Willow Smith’s Instagram Picture With Moises Arias: ‘There Was Nothing Sexual About It’

An Instagram image of 13-year-old “Whip My Hair” singer Willow Smith lying in a bed next to topless 20-year-old actor Moises Arias caused a firestorm on the Web Wednesday. While some fans of the singer, daughter to actors Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, scorned the since-deleted Instagram shot (originally posted by 490tx.com on April 27) for being too sexual, the teenage powerhouse’s mother says the critics are the ones with dirty minds.

“Here’s the deal. There was nothing sexual about that picture or that situation,” Pinkett Smith, 42, told TMZ at Los Angeles International Airport Wednesday evening. “You guys are projecting your trash onto it and you’re actually like covert pedophiles, and that’s not cool.”

According to the gossip site, Pinkett Smith, known for her roles in "Hawthorne" and her 17-year marriage to Willow’s father, actor/producer Will Smith, 45, is not usually open in commenting on familial situations. “This one clearly got to her,” reads the site.

Before Pinkett Smith’s comment, sources close to the A-list family told TMZ Wednesday that Willow’s parents had no problem with the photo. “Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith believe their daughter is ‘very mature’ enough so to make her own decisions as long as they don’t clearly cross the line,” states the report, sources adding that the actors felt the photo was “innocent fun” and an “expression of art.”

Arias, known for his role on the former Disney series “Hannah Montana,” is reportedly good friends with Willow’s brother, “The Karate Kid” film star Jaden Smith, 15. Arias was last spotted with Willow and Jaden, as well as “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” stars Kendall and Kylie Jenner, attending the 2014 Coachella Valley Music Festival in Indio, California, in April.
