James Bond Returns To Jamaica In ‘Bond 25’ Sneak Peek
James Bond is making a major return trip to an iconic series location, as highlighted in a new sneak peek video.
‘Bond 25’ is deep into principal photography, shooting on location in Jamaica, an important location in Bond history. Not only did 007’s first cinematic outing, 1962’s “Dr. No,” take place primarily in the sunny Caribbean destination, but Bond’s creator Ian Fleming also lived on a Jamaican estate in Saint Mary Parish for most of his post-WWII life. He even wrote the original Bond novels there. The name of the estate, “Goldeneye,” was also borrowed for Pierce Brosnan's first outing as the famous spy in 1995.
Also featured in the video are looks at new and returning characters. “Captain Marvel” star Lashana Lynch appears as one of the latest Bond girls, Nomi.
Returning after a two-film break is Jeffery Wright as Felix Leiter, Bond’s long-time CIA liaison. Wright debuted his version of the character in 2006’s “Casino Royale” and returned in 2008 for “Quantum of Solace,” but he sat out “Skyfall” and “Spectre.” The official plot synopsis for the film states that Leiter is responsible for bringing Bond out of retirement for a new mission.
“Bond 25” will hit theaters on April 8, 2020. Daniel Craig returns as the titular super spy, alongside other returning cast members Ralph Fiennes, Naomi Harris, Lea Seydoux, Ben Whishaw, Rory Kinnear and Wright as well as newcomers Lynch and Oscar-winner Rami Malek as the film’s main villain.
