James Wan Wraps 'Aquaman' Sequel; Shares On-Set Photo Featuring Jason Momoa, Patrick Wilson
Director James Wan has shared a photo from the sets of "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom," revealing that the filming has been completed.
"And finally, finally, finally picture wrap on the actual last day of #Aquaman2 in Malibu with these two gents," Wan wrote on his Instagram page Wednesday and tagged Jason Momoa and Patrick Wilson in the post. "Yes, we do get very wet, a lot, on this show."
The 44-year-old Malaysian-Australian director thanked the entire crew of the movie for working "so hard and tirelessly" on the sets, "especially the UK portion where we shot 95% of the film."
"Truly some of the finest artisans and craftspeople I've had the good fortune to work with. And big shout-outs to the amazing Hawaiian and Los Angeles units," he added.
The movie will now enter post-production before it reaches the audience.
"I have a very long way to go before it will be ready, but I can't wait to share this little film with you all," he said.
In the photo that Wan shared, the director could be seen standing behind Momoa and Wilson who were completely drenched. Wilson had a hand shower while posing for the photo and Momoa could be seen laughing.
Celebs in the comments section congratulated the director for wrapping the shooting, while fans shared their excitement.
"The Nun" director Corin Hardy wrote, "Congrats MaestroMan, what a Herculean effort! You may take one day off. But seriously, congrats on getting there. Epic." Actor Jon Lee Brody also commented, "Congrats my brother!!"
"I was very impressed by the visuals of the first movie I can't wait for the second one. I'm hoping we'll see more of the gold suit. You did a great job made for making Aquaman cool again," a fan commented.
Another user wrote, "I can only imagine this will be completely amazing. Thank you so much for working so hard!! Can't wait to watch it!"
"Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom" is the second installment of DC Comics' action-packed adventure "Aquaman," which was released in December 2018. The second installment is slated to release on Dec. 16.
