Jana Kramer has gotten back into the dating scene following her split from ex Mike Caussin, but she won't be introducing any new partners to her children anytime soon.
Kramer and Caussin are both determined to wait until the time is right before letting their new lovers meet their kids. According to the singer-actress, they don't want to introduce their daughter Jolie, 5, and son Jace, 2, to any "random people" that they're dating.
"I won’t want to meet someone’s kids or introduce my kids to anyone until we’re in a serious relationship," the "One Tree Hill" alum told Us Weekly Wednesday while promoting her "Voices" single. "I think it’s important to really, like, be solid in the relationship. Mike and I are really good with that. We’ve been [keeping an] eye on that. It needs to be, like, something serious."
Kramer and Caussin announced their split in April and finalized their divorce three months later. In her statement, the country singer hinted that her ex's infidelity was the reason for their separation.
"'It's time.' As I try to make sense of a reality I never wanted to believe could be possible again, those words have now become a reality," Kramer wrote on Instagram on April 21. "I've fought y'all. I've loved hard. I've forgiven. I've put the work in. I've given everything I have, and now I have nothing else to give."
Caussin, meanwhile, has yet to comment on their split.
Kramer cited the reason for the split as "inappropriate marital conduct, irreconcilable differences and adultery" in her divorce filing. She'll still have to pay Caussin $3,200 per month as regular child support since she outearns him.
Despite their split, Kramer praised Caussin as a father to their two children.
"He’s a great dad," she told Us Weekly of her ex-husband. "He knows I'm a good mom."
Kramer and Caussin married in 2015. They split a year later after he was involved in multiple affairs, and the former NFL player underwent treatment for sex addiction. They renewed their vows in 2017.
According to the "I Got the Boy" songstress, she still believes in marriage and hopes to show her kids "what a healthy marriage looks like."
"I hope that happens," she told the outlet. "I have a lot of love to give, but I think right now my focus is just continued healing and not settling."
Kramer has since been linked to Kristin Cavallari's ex Jay Cutler. Last month, they were spotted at The Twelve Thirty Club in Nashville, Tennessee, where they reportedly packed on the PDA. According to an onlooker, the two "acted like a couple the whole time."
