‘Jane The Virgin’ Season 3 Spoilers: Justina Machado To Play A Matchmaker For Rogelio
With his ex-girlfriend Xo Villanueva (Andrea Navedo) pregnant with his nemesis Esteban Santiago’s (Keller Wortham) baby and his son-in-law Michael Cordero (Brett Dier) fighting for his life in the hospital, it comes as no surprise that Rogelio Dela Vega (Jamie Camil) is feeling down in the dumps.
Because of these unfortunate events that have transpired in Rogelio’s life, he decides he wants a fresh start — particularly in the romance department.
This is where Darcy Factor comes in. She will be played by “The Queen of the South” actress Justina Machado, according to Deadline, and she is described as “an all-business brassy, formidable and likes-to-be-in-control matchmaker whom Rogelio goes to see about finding a woman.”
Darcy is very protective of her female clientele, so she enforces strict rules about her dating services. But, Rogelio being Rogelio, he breaks a couple of her rules right away. Darcy couldn’t resist the telenovela star and gives him another chance or two, until later coming up with an interesting proposition.
Earlier, it was reported that Xo won’t be going through her pregnancy alone since an old flame would resurface. “Desperate Housewives” alum Ricardo Chavira will be playing an ex-boyfriend who dated her when he was still married. Chavira has been cast for a recurring role, so he’s not set to disappear on Xo anytime soon.
As upsetting as this might be for Rogelio, Camil said that the most important love story in the show belongs to Rogelio and Michael, so his main focus would be on his son-in-law’s survival.
“Because, you know, Rogelio was devastated when Michael got shot. I'm like, 'I cannot go on with life, so what's going to happen?’” Camil told Pop Sugar. “I just hope that Michael gets better… that this gunshot doesn't transform into a horrible ending, which I don't even want to think about. But let’s see what happens!”
“Jane the Virgin” Season 3 will premiere on Monday, Oct. 17, at 9 p.m. on The CW.
