‘Jane The Virgin’ Star Gina Rodriguez Shares Adorable Throwback Photo At 13 Years Old

“Jane the Virgin” star Gina Rodriguez is a drop-dead gorgeous Latina actress who is making waves in Hollywood. But in a recent throwback photo shared by Rodriguez, it looks like she was already beautiful even at such a young age.

The actress posted a photo of herself when she was only 13 years old. She had short hair, wore a floral tank top, and flashed a big smile.

Rodriguez rose to fame after starring as Jane Gloriana Villanueva in The CW series. This Season 3, her character experienced a major heartbreak after her husband, Michael Cordero (Brett Dier), suddenly passed away.

Showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman told Deadline that Michael’s death was something they planned on doing earlier on. “His death was definitely in the cards back then,” she said. “So yes, it was always part of the larger story we were telling; it was an integral step of Jane’s arc and her relationship to romance and to the idea of ‘happily ever after.’”

Urman added that because of Michael’s death, Jane’s life changed in every way. “And yet, she has had to carry on,” she said. “She’s a little older now, she’s certainly less idealistic and a little more pragmatic. But she still has dreams, and hopes and fears.”

Even though it was hard to say goodbye to Michael, Dier told Entertainment Weekly that he did not try to convince Urman not to kill off his character.

“I get it, and I get that it’s the journey that has to happen for the characters. I understood it. It was just really hard to film the scene of him dying. That was a really weird day for me,” he said.

“Jane the Virgin” Season 3 airs every Monday at 9 p.m. EST on The CW.
