‘Jane The Virgin’ Star Justin Baldoni Pens Letter Of Advice To Son
Parents place a lot of hopes and dreams on their children, and they really want their kids to grow up as better versions of themselves. So when “Jane the Virgin” star Justin Baldoni welcomed fatherhood for the second time this year, he made a wish for his baby boy, Maxwell, to have the “super power” of listening.
On Instagram, the TV hunk posted a black and white photo of himself cradling Maxwell. He then wrote that he is currently on the journey to “explore his own masculinity and what it means to be a man” through the storytelling platform called MAKERS.
However, Baldoni acknowledged that he has a lot of shortcomings, and it’s mainly because of his struggles with listening. So he hoped that Maxwell would grow up to a better listener, because the ability to listen and pay attention to the needs of the world “could solve so many (if not ALL) of the world’s problems.”
“Really listen. Listen so much that you can actually HEAR,” he told his son. “Because if we don’t listen than there is no space to hear. And if we don’t hear then there can be no growth. And without growth...life becomes meaningless.”
“So listen to the women in your life. Listen to your mother, your sister, your nana. Listen to your guy friends, your bullies and the strangers you meet everyday. Listen to those who can’t speak. Listen even when it hurts. Just listen. And then let your actions be your response,” he continued.
Maxwell Roland-Samuel Baldoni was born on Oct. 18. The baby measured 21½ inches in length and weighed 8 lbs., 7 oz.
“Our little Maxwell Roland-Samuel Baldoni came into this world on Wednesday and showed us that it was possible for our hearts to double in size … again,” the couple said in a statement. “Maiya is so excited to have a baby brother and is already helping change his diapers and giving him tons of kisses. We want to thank everyone for all the love and prayers. We are so grateful.”
